BOL (Logistics) App
Digital transformation takes time. Not every industry can just flip a switch. But if the desire is there, so is the opportunity. While working for a local logistics company in Chicago, IL, there was a desire to remove all paperwork for deliveries and create a digital receipt for acknowledgement of cargo for shipment.
My role was to visualize wireframes and some higher-level UX ideas, into a potential app to create that digital receipt. Below is my visual translation, along with some inclusion of familiar mobile patterns for the potential app
MOBILE UI
My UI update included rethinking Pickup and Dropoff, showing cargo details using current mobile patterns, and menu access to name a few. I also explored the idea of using an actual signature where the wireframe called for a check box and action button that could result in accidental signing.
Step 1 in Singing the BOL would include typing your name so we have an exact spelling.
Step 2 in Singing the BOL would be the actual signature.

Wire showing cargo details. Above, I solved for this by combining the goods details and destination into one screen to reduce cognitive load. I wanted to make it easier to “sniff out” the details and digest the information.
